Dead End Days
In a post-war society where a zombie invasion has been narrowly averted, humanity is left scrambling to cope with the remaining zombie “demographic” that now forms a part of daily life. When a grasping-at-straws advertising campaign for “Brains Cola” turns into a runaway success, zombies become the new target for all manner of brains-themes products, as companies rush to capitalize on their untapped buying power.
(a frustrated life insurance agent deluged with undead policy holders), Sam and Bridget (freelance zombie hunters desperate for a gig), and Bruce (the irritatingly cheerful previously-deceased-rights activist), all struggle to find their place in this strange new world - they collectively uncover a sinister plot by a multinational corporation looking to plunge the world into another zombie-human war, regardless of the cost.
Long before the resurgence of high profile zombie-genre films like Shaun of the Dead, Resident Evil, or the Dawn of the Dead remake, a group of upstart filmmakers were bringing the dead back to life? to sell them cola in the weekly serialized Internet comedy Dead End Days. An instant cult classic, this grandfather of Internet video series went on to spawn International releases of a 4-DVD box set and text book collecting the full scripts of the series and essays by the cast and crew.
Now celebrating it’s 5th anniversary with a new podcast re-release DED remains a telling reminder that death isn’t the end, it just puts you in a new demographic.
